Schools undergoing renovations: back-to-school information

Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board is excited about the facility renewal advancements being made to create outstanding learning environments at four elementary schools.

The four projects are at Athol-South Marysburgh Public School, Prince Charles School (Belleville), Sir John A. Macdonald School and York River Public School (formerly North Hastings Senior Elementary School).

As of today, the projects are in different states of readiness: two will be ready to welcome students and staff on the first day of school; one will be ready for partial occupancy; and one will not be ready to occupy. Plans are in place to ensure that on the first day of school, Tuesday, September 6, all students and staff will be in safe learning and working environments.

The following provides an update of the four sites as of today. Principals of the four schools will be using a variety of methods to communicate with parents/guardians, including the automated call-out system to leave messages at students’ homes, signage at each site, along with regular updates posted on the school board website.
