Like many schools throughout Ontario, schools of Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board hosting events and activities this week to recognize Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week.
Events and activities range from presentations by police officers, literacy activities, sessions for parents/guardians, performances by secondary school students, writing activities and school-wide pledges.
Secondary school students will be doing a drama performance at Trenton High School on Wednesday, November 16 at 1:10 p.m., with an open invitation to the public.
About Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week
School communities throughout Ontario will celebrate Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week November 14 – 18, 2011. Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has partnered with local police services, Parent Involvement Committee, student groups, Loyalist College and several community agencies to plan activities. The slogan for the local campaign is Be Kind to Me.
Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week is one way to involve the school community in promoting safe learning environments for all students, which is essential to their success. It is also a time to raise awareness of bullying-related issues with parents/guardians and the local community.
