Quinte Secondary School students are eager to work on construction of a new home. It will be the seventh home constructed in a unique arrangement where students work alongside skill trades workers. The senior students are in the Quinte Student Structures program, a Specialist High Skills Major offered by the school.
The program began in 2005 with the first home completed in 2006. Students in the program work in partnership with a local builder to construct a new home, giving them experience in and exposure to a variety of skilled trades.
"We are excited about the semester ahead for our students and partners. We know it will be an incredible experience for our students as they work alongside skilled trades workers," commented Principal Lisa Vincent.
