Quinte Secondary School upcoming performance and fundraising

Events and activities are getting attention at Quinte Secondary School.

Quinte Secondary School students are putting the final touches on the comedy performance Shakes-Parody.

DATE: Thursday, May 12 to Saturday, May 14, 2011
TIME: 7:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Maranatha Church, 100 College Street West, Belleville
TICKETS: $5 for students with a card; $8 for students without a card; $15 for adults; $40 for a group/family of four; $60 for a group/family of six

This performance will be a play consisting of three parodies of Shakespeare’s most famous works: Romeo and Juliet, Macbeth and Hamlet. The hilarious plots present a modern twist on these Shakespeare favourites! Filled with spectacular energy and performances, Quinte Secondary School’s version of Shakes-Parody will bring the school and community together for family theatre at its best!

Students have demonstrated leadership by organizing fundraising events to support local and global causes.

  1. LOCAL: A barbeque event raised almost $600 to contribute to construction of a wheelchair ramp for a local family.
  2. LOCAL: Corey Clark Classic golf tournament took place on Saturday, April 30. Proceeds were donated to Children’s Wish Foundation.
  3. GLOBAL Japan relief: Through a spring coin drive event and school dance, students raised approximately $1, 800 which was donated to Canadian Red Cross.
