Parents/guardians and teens are invited to evening of learning and sharing at Stirling Senior Public School .
The Parents as Partners workshop  will address topics relevant to parents of teens and pre-teens:
- Living in a Wired World, presented by William Lundy and Erna Sorensen
- Triple P Parenting – Teens, presented by Julie Pohlman-Brogee and Wendy Sutherland
Each session will be approximately 45-minutes with a question period at the end.
- Cyber-safety and social networking, presented by Constable Scott Burke and Heather Yearwood

That night the school will also celebrate the opening of the new parent lending library. Parenting resources, including books and DVDs, will be on display and parents will be informed on how the items can be accessed. Displays from community agencies will also be available for viewing.
The event and creation of the parent lending library are made possible through a Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant from the Ministry of Education. The grant is intended to enhance parent involvement, highlight the school as an important resource for parents in the community and provide skill-building opportunities for parents.

Stirling Senior Public School is a community school located in Stirling, Ontario. The school has a combined computer lab and library, a fully-equipped music room and two complete science rooms. The school yard is a large open space with a soccer pitch, baseball diamond, track and a variety of playground equipment. The property also includes a trail system used for outdoor education and athletic programs. Students at Stirling Senior take part in character education programs focusing on school respect agreements. Celebrations of learning include community partnerships with local agencies, an extensive music program, the Quinte Regional Science & Technology Fair and other projects.
