According to Teacher Judy Wilson, this initiative has transpired into learning for students and teachers alike.
“We want to convey to other educators that art and literacy go together. Teachers do not have to be experts at art to be able to introduce famous artists to young children. Our students have opened a whole new world for us as educators. Full-day Kindergarten is about a balance of learning, child-directed activities and teacher-directed activities. These projects have included all three. Each one of us certainly learned a lot! ”
This exhibition features the works of students in the Kindergarten class of Judy Wilson and Glenda Giajnorio. These students have created paintings inspired by Vincent Van Gogh, Pablo Picasso and Eric Carle. While studying these three creative personalities and their art styles, the creativity of the students themselves has truly shone through.
