Jesslyn Doxtator won Moira Idol contest

Congratulations to Jesslyn Dextator, a Moira Secondary School student who won the Moira Idol contest.

Moira Secondary School had their 3rd annual Fun Fair and 7th year for Moira Idol.

The idol contest and annual fun fair were recently held at the school. Both were community events which attracted many participants. The fun fair games were filled with excitement from obstacle courses to soccer, face painting, photography, a BBQ, and, of course, more than 110 items in the silent auction.

The Moira Idol contest went live at 7:30 p.m. with 12 finalists. Three judges, Scotty Lalonde from Rock 107, Paul Ferguson from Cool 100, and Julie Simpson, a Canadian recording artist.

The winner, Jesslyn Doxtator, won three hours of studio recording time at R&J Entertainment Studios, a take home trophy and her name will be engraved on the house trophy. Second place winner, Fiona Stanners, received a take home trophy and a Moira SS sweatshirt. Third place winner, Jessica Harpell, received a take home trophy, $10 Quinte Mall certificate and Topper’s Pizza Certificate.
