Introducing new Premier’s Safe Schools Awards
A safe and inclusive environment makes a school a great place to learn! The Ministry of Education has introduced a new award to recognize Ontario school teams which have done exceptional and innovative work in creating safe and caring school environments.
Safe schools teams across Ontario will be recognized for standing up against bullying in their schools. The annual Premier’s Safe Schools Awards will recognize up to 10 teams.
Who is eligible?
All safe school teams across Ontario.
Who makes up a safe school team?
Every school in Ontario has a safe schools team in place that is responsible for school safety. Each team is represented by students, parents, teachers, non-teaching staff, community partners and the principal.
The award recognizes up to 10 safe schools teams which have demonstrated initiative, creativity and leadership in promoting a safe and inclusive school climate. Learn more about the awards criteria.
