‘Grandfriends’ coming to Madoc Public School

Madoc Public School students continue to demonstrate Growing with Character through their actions! They are involved in a variety of projects or events that see children and community working together.

All are looking forward to the start of the Grandfriends program in the new year. It involves cross-generational sharing between children and older-aged volunteers who visit one to two classrooms to share their knowledge of knitting, painting or other crafts. Through these interactions, the younger and older generations learn from one another and begin to understand and respect one another.

A recent project involved students painting decorations for the festive tree at the Madoc Kiwanis Centre. Earlier this year students painted wooden fish for the school Stream of Dreams.

Madoc Public School is proud to have many partnerships with the municipality and community organizations!
