Foods class gives back to the community

Students at Quinte Secondary School in the Employment Destinations Program participated in preparing sandwiches for the Salvation Army, Family Services’ Hot Lunch Program.

The students in Ms. Robinson’s Foods class made and packaged a variety of sandwiches, and later delivered them to the Family Services program. The Family Services program provides lunch for over 90 people in the community who appreciate a hot meal on a regular basis.
Ms. Robinson took the students to the Salvation Army so they could learn about this important community organization and see where the food they prepared was actually going.
The Salvation Army needs regular assistance and the help received from Ms. Robinson’s class was greatly appreciated. Quinte Secondary School anticipated providing this support to the Hot Lunch Program, every Wednesday, for the rest of the school year.

Students in the Employment Destinations Program at Quinte Secondary School will receive an Employment Destinations Certificate once they have completed the program.
