Earth Hour celebrated in schools and administrative offices
Students and staff demonstrated their commitment to the environment today by participating in Earth Hour.
The Ministry of Education and World Wildlife Fund partnered to encourage Ontario-wide participation. Earth Hour uses the simple action of turning off the lights for one hour to deliver a powerful message about the need for action on global warming.
At schools and administrative offices, non-emergency lights were turned off for one hour on Friday, March 26, 2010.
This year Earth Hour will be celebrated internationally on Saturday, March 27 from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. It is expected that millions of people around the world will switch lights off.
