Trustee Dwayne Inch was re-elected as chair of the Board and Jim Williams was elected as vice-chair of the Board at the annual public Board meeting held Monday, December 5, 2011. The chair and vice-char are elected annually at the December meeting. Pictured right: Dwayne Inch, Chair of the Board.
Inch expressed appreciation to fellow Board members for placing their trust in him.
"I have enjoyed working as interim chair after the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Carl Pitman, earlier this year. The community has entrusted us with our most precious commodities: children. As trustees, our job comes with challenges, and yet they are overshadowed when children perform their best. I want to thank Director of Education Rob McGall for his encouragement and support, and the senior team and staff for keeping us organized," Inch remarked.
Williams, in his remarks for wanting to run for vice-chair, expressed sentiments relating to student achievement.
"Students are our number one priority. We must continue to focus on their success through development of character, academic excellence and social skills. As trustees, we endeavour to see students grow in character and knowledge," stated Williams. Pictured right: Jim Williams, Vice-chair of the Board.
Inch was first elected to the Board in December 2006 and was acclaimed in the October 2010 municipal election. He represents South Prince Edward County, with the following schools included in his electoral area:
- Athol Central Public School
- Pinecrest Memorial Elementary School
- Queen Elizabeth School (Picton)
- South Marysburgh Central School
- Prince Edward Collegiate Institute
Williams was first elected to the Board in December 1990. He represents Sidney and Frankford, with the following schools included in his electoral area:
- Bayside Public School
- Frankford Public School
- Susanna Moodie Elementary School
- Bayside Secondary School
