Centennial Secondary School students and staff raised $10,000 for Local Christmas Sharing Program

School spirit was high at Centennial Secondary School on Friday, December 10, 2010 as students and staff hosted the annual Christmas Sharing Auction. Once again Auctioneer Boyd Sullivan, donated his time, keeping students and staff on the edge of their seats with his auctioneering talent and great sense of humour.

By the end of the event, $10,000 was raised for the Christmas Sharing group of Belleville. Food donations of cakes, cookies, pies, fudge and ice cream made by students, classes, staff, parents and donations from local businesses were the feature items. The funds raised tie the highest amount ever for this event in the history of Centennial, definitely exceeding expectations for this year!

One memorable portion of the auction was when the Quinte Ballet students paid over $100 for the entire football team to get up on stage, drop to their knees and yell out, "We love the dancers!"

A special thank you to Boyd Sullivan, Ms. Carroll, Ms. Cook, Ms. Chisholm and the Centennial Secondary Student Council for organizing the auction.
