During Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week, November 18 – 24, 2012, Ontario students, school staff, parents/guardians and community agencies are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.
Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board has partnered with police services, Children’s Mental Health, Loyalist College, the Parent Involvement Committee, student groups and several community agencies to plan activities. Seven municipalities/counties have officially proclaimed Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week. The local theme is Be Kind to Me.
Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week is an important way for school communities to promote safer learning environments for all students, which is essential to their success. It is also a time to raise awareness of bullying-related issues with parents/guardians and the local community.
