Bayside SS students help battle hunger

Students at Bayside Secondary School say they’re hoping Bayside area residents will help ‘shell out’ this Halloween to help battle hunger.

What: Halloween for Hunger Campaign
When: Saturday, October 31, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Where: Bayside community
Who: Bayside Secondary School students

The Halloween for Hunger Campaign will hit the streets Saturday, October 31, 2009 in the area surrounding the high school. The Grade 11 leadership class has organized this event and students will be going door-to-door Halloween night to collect food for families throughout the Quinte area. It is the first time Bayside has participated in the campaign.

From 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., student volunteers will go door-to-door to collect non-perishable food items for Gleaners Food Bank. Students will have identification to show they are participating in the event.

Families throughout the school community will receive a flyer with more information about the event a week before Halloween.
