Award-winning author, Eric Walters, to visit district schools

Award-winning Canadian author, Eric Walters, is scheduled to visit several elementary schools on Friday, December 4, 2009. He will spend time reading with students to celebrate his love of reading and children’s learning.

Walters’ children’s novels include We All Fall Down, Safe as Houses, Bully Boys, and Alexandria of Africa. Students are anxiously awaiting the arrival of his latest book about the Asian tsunami called The Wave.

According to his website, Eric’s novels have won more than 80 awards including eleven separate children’s choice awards. He is the only three time winner of both the Ontario Library Association Silver Birch and Red Maple Awards – in which over 125,000 students participate and vote for the winners.
