Academics and character recognized at Bayside Secondary School
Bayside Secondary School is proud of its students and recently celebrated their achievements. The school hosted the fall Bayside Recognition Awards and opened its doors to over 350 friends and family.
In the spotlight were students who achieved the top mark in each course, the top five highest averages in each grade, as well as students who were recognized for Bayside Pride Awards. Students were welcomed and commended by Kathy Soule, Director of Education, for their hard work and demonstrated character. They also enjoyed the presentation of certificates and medals followed by a reception that celebrated student success and achievement.
The first annual Bayside Pride Awards were presented to students who demonstrated the district Growing with Character traits: caring, cooperation, honesty, humour, integrity, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness. These awards are designed to recognize students who make contributions to the school community that go above and beyond the daily expectations of school life. Ten students received Bayside Pride Awards through nominations by staff for demonstrating a combination of the eight traits.
