50+ students perform in ‘The Music Man’

Elementary and secondary school students have teamed up to perform Meredith Wilson’s version of The Music Man.

In this timeless on-stage classic, con man Professor Harold Hill goes to River City, Iowa in 1912 looking to make money by selling music instruments to the young boys in the town. His plan goes awry when he falls for the town’s stern librarian, Marian Paroo.

The show is filled with well-known musical scores, 76 trombones and features live performances by the Belleville-area barbershop quartet The Trentones.

The cast has over 50 elementary and secondary students and features the outstanding talent of the Centennial Secondary School Music Theatre class.
