Join in recognizing National Treaties Week, November 6-12, 2016

For the first time, the Province of Ontario has designated the first full week of November as Treaties Recognition Week. It is a time to promote public awareness and education about treaties and treaty relationships.

Treaties Recognition Week is one of many steps on Ontario’s journey of healing and reconciliation with Indigenous peoples. It reflects Ontario’s commitment to work with Indigenous partners, creating a better future for everyone in the province.

At HPEDSB, schools are integrating First Nations, Métis and Inuit cultures, histories and perspectives into teaching and learning in order to increase knowledge and awareness among all students and employees. As well, priorities and goals in the 2015-2016 Strategic Plan contain actions to help each student achieve success, feel included and have a voice.

Please join in recognizing Treaties Recognition Week!
