Two upcoming events at Centennial SS: theatre and jazz orchestra

Students at Centennial Secondary School are preparing for two community-wide events.

1. Performance of “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland”

Have you ever wondered what is like at the bottom of a rabbit hole? This portrayal of the popular classic is a colourful and fantastical tour of Belleville’s very own wonderland!

DATES: May 7, 8, 9, 2015 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
TIME: 7:00 p.m.
MATINEE: Sunday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m.
LOCATION: Centennial Secondary School, 160 Palmer Avenue, Belleville

TICKETS: Adults $15, students and seniors $10, available at Centennial Secondary School, Red Ball Radio or the Quinte Arts Council.

2. Performance by the Centennial Secondary School Jazz Orchestra

Students in the Jazz Orchestra are getting excited to perform with the Commodores Orchestra.

DATE: Thursday, May 14, 2015
TIME: 7:30 p.m.
LOCATION: Centennial Secondary School, 160 Palmer Avenue, Belleville

TICKETS: $20 at the door. Advance tickets are available at Parsons Cleaners in Belleville which is further offering $10 off the next cleaning bill for customers who present their show ticket after May 14.

Last year, the Commodores presented $1,500 in scholarships towards post-secondary scholarships for three university-bound musicians.

CSS Teacher, Blair Yarranton, is a veteran in the trumpet section of the Commodores Orchestra. The Commodores will release their new CD Live at the Stirling Festival Theatre at the May 14th show. It was recorded at the band’s Stirling Theatre show in September 2014.
