GUEST SPEAKER DENNIS DEBBAUDT
Dennis Debbaudt is the proud father of Brad, a young man who has autism. A professional investigator and law enforcement trainer, Dennis has authored or co-authored over 30 articles and books since 1993 including Autism, Advocates and Law Enforcement Professionals: Recognizing and Reducing Risk Situations for People with Autism Spectrum Disorders, articles for the FBI Law Enforcement Bulletin (April, 2001), and many other law enforcement and autism publications.
ABOUT THE VOLUNTARY AUTISM REGISTRY
The Voluntary Autism Registry provides police with quick access to critical information about a person with Autism. The registry contains emergency contact information, detailed physical descriptions, known routines, favourite attractions and special needs of the person with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
This information can assist p0lice officers in communicating or engaging with a person with ASD.
